Be More Active

If you are unable to exercise due to any form medical condition please make sure to check with your GP before starting any program.

Today is 10th of December 2008 - Please don't wait till the 1st of January to start exercising.

If your activity level is Zero - Challenge yourself to move more. May be start with a 15 minute walk every day.

If you are fairly active challenge yourself to move to the next level.

If you are at a stage that the activities you are doing is the most you can fit into your life right now your goal is consistency.

Often I listen to a set of CD's by Jeff Olson called The Slight Edge. I highly recommend you get one & listen. It is available at Amazon.com

In his book Jeff talks about how the simple littel things that we do daily in life compounded over time.

I like to give couple of examples he quotes;
If you exercise today, are you going to be slim & healthy tomorrow -> NO
If you eat the piece of Pizza today, are you going to be overweight & unhealthy tomorrow ->NO

Only when you do them repeatedly it compounds over time & it comes down to simple little decisions we take everyday.

We live in a push button society & we want instant gratification. We want it NOW. We plant & we want the harvest right now!! - We don't like to leave some time to cultivate.

Sorry for going off the topic, but this is so important.

We all have 24 hours a day to do what ever we like.
Is it that much of a ask to take at least 30 minutes out of that 24 hours to you?

I am very guilty of not taking time for myself, for my health & well being & relaxation. After listening to many mentors & reading their books I devote one hour each morning to myself. I start my day with drinking water, followed by exercises, meditation, reading a book & having my Shake for breakfast.

Making school lunch, taking the washing out can wait till I finish MY morning ritual. What I used to do was do everything else & IF & WHEN I have time look after myself. Guess what, I never had any time left over for myself.

I am happier now because I feel great every single day.

Please go ahead & take those simple slight edge positive decisions everyday & you will see the miracle of compounded effect of your decisions.

I think this is enough for today & look forward to your comments.
